It can prevent damaging UV light from penetrating through the driveway and causing its colour to fade over time. How easy is it to maintain a resin driveway?

Resin drives are incredibly easy to maintain, which means it’s not hard to keep them looking their best throughout the years. A pressure washer with a maximum 150 bar rating can successfully remove many stains. A fan-type lance should be used and spraying should be carried out at least 200mm above the resin-bound surface. Make sure you only use cold water on resin surfacing. 

Whilst most stains can be removed with minimal effort, it’s important that you do so as soon as they arise. A solution of water and detergent should be adequate. For viscous stains such as oil, use a cloth and methylated spirit to achieve the desired effect. If chewing gum sticks to your resin drive, you may be able to remove it using a freeze spray. The freeze spray will harden the chewing gum, allowing you to scrape it off gently using a scraper.

How do I remove weeds from a resin driveway?

Resin driveways are weed resistant, which means you don’t need to worry about lots of unsightly weeds sprouting up and ruining their appearance. However, it’s possible that some seeds will disperse onto it due to the weather or from animals. If seedlings do begin to grow on your resin drive, you can simply pull them out by hand. You’ll need to ensure that root is pulled up with the weed. If they take root, you can use a mild weed killer to get rid of them. Avoid using a strong weed killer if you can since it can cause some discolouration to the surface. If you do use a strong weed killer, make sure you water it down to make it weaker.
